Built 1858 by Joseph Potts & Son. Opened 27 Dec 1858 as "Theatre Royal". 1905 renamed "Hippodrome" and used as a vaudeville theatre. Closed 1 Dec 1923. Demolished in 1930 in favour of road widening.
