Built 1898 as "Kaiserhof", a multi-purpose theatre and concert hall and restaurant. Opened 15 Oct 1898 with Friedrich Schiller's drama "Die Braut von Messina". Destroyed by bombs in 1945. 1946-1949 rebuilding. Re-opened 18 Sep 1949 as "Neuberinhaus", named in honour of the Reichenbach-born German actress and theatre director, Friederike Caroline Neuber (1697-1760). Subsequently used for guest theatre performances, as a cinema and for various events. 1981-1984 major modernization. 1994 interior rebuilding.
