Wolgang Anheisser

On June 21, 1954, Wolfgang Anheisser sang the "Erster Geharnischter" in Mozart's "Die Zauberflöte" at Freiburg. Fritz Wunderlich sang Tamino in this student production, which was also his stage debut.

Anheisser sang at a series of German opera houses from 1961 to his death. He was a versatile singer, making his mark in operetta, opera and as a recitalist. Anheisser died in 1974 from a fall off a balcony on the stage at the opera house in Cologne.
