Country: China City: Shanghai Location: Jing'an; 218 Yu Yuan Lu Built 1932-1933 as a ballroom by S. J. Young (Yáng Xiliù). After 1956 converted to a cinema and renamed "Hongdu Cinema" (Red Capitol Cinema). Later closed. 1990 collapse of part of the façade of the derelict building, killing one person. 2001 renovations, re-opened as ballroom and nightclub, again named "Paramount".
