Opened 1902 as "Yankton Opera House". 1921 converted into a cinema and reopened as "Hess Theatre", shortly later renamed "Dakota Theatre". Rebuilding by D. W. Rogers in Art Deco style. 1946 rebuilding by Henry A. Raapke. Rebuilding in the 1960s. Closed 1987. Re-opened 1990 as a live theatre.
