First building on the site: Fine Arts Center and Boyd Auditorium (622 seats), built 1951-1953. Named after Oscar F. Boyd. Fine Arts Center demolished in 2004. Boyd Auditorium was rebuilt and integrated into a new performing arts center named "Boyd Cultural Arts Center", opened 2005, with a main theatre hall named "Hugh G. Heiland Theatre" (433 seats).
