Opened 11 Feb 1890 as "New Belle Opera House" with Gilbert & Sullivan's light opera "The Pirates of Penzance". 1906 renamed "Racine Theatre", 1914 renamed "Rex Theatre". Later used as a cinema. Closed 1930. Re-opened in the late 1930s. Closed 1939. Later converted to a bowling alley. Demolished in the late 1960s.
