Named in honour of the president of the Symphony Association and chairwoman of the Music Center Building Fund Committee, Dorothy Buffum Chandler (1901-1997). Operated as part of the "Los Angeles Music Center". Home to the "LA Opera" company. Until 2003, also home to the Los Angeles Philharmonic and the Los Angeles Master Chorale. 1969-1987 venue of the Academy Awards ("Oscar") ceremonies. 3197 seats.
