Built 1925 as a vaudeville theatre and cinema. Opened 21 Dec as "Keeney's Theatre". 1952 rebuilding by Michael J. DeAngelis, re-opened 26 Sep 1952 as "Elmira Theater". 1975-1977 major rebuilding, re-opened as "Clemens Center", a performing arts centre. Originally 2600 seats.

That group gave Elmira, The Clemens Center - a center for the performing arts and community events. Ella Fitzgerald, Itzhak Perlman, Bill Cosby and the New York City Opera have graved the Clemens Center stage."
