Connellee, founder of Eastland County, opened in 1920 as the Connellee Theatre. Completely remodeled, it reopened as the Majestic, February 13, 1947, featuring an art deco decor. Restored to its 1947 elegance, it was rededicated on September 26, 1987 by the Eastlind Fine Arts Association and stands as a monument to the vision and volunteer spirit of rural Texas.
