Opened 1 Jan 1866 as the "Turner Opera House". Destroyed by fire in 1869. Rebuilt (with only the façade surviving) and re-opened 28 Nov 1871 as "Music Hall". 1885 renamed "Grand Opera House". 1899 renamed "Victoria Opera House", later renamed "Victoria Theatre". Damaged by a flood in 1913 and by fire on 15 Jan 1918. 1919 renamed "Victory Theatre". Closed in the 1970s. 1989 major restauration, re-opened as "Victoria Theatre". 1154 seats.

It has survived two fires and two floods and was threatened by the wrecking ball in the 1970's. Today the theater is one of the oldest performing arts theaters in the country, and is listed on the National Record of Historic Places."
