Built 1850 by Alexander Jackson Davis as "Smith Hall", a social venue. Later used as laboratory, bath house and law school. 1923 converted into a theatre and renamed for the university theatre company, the Carolina Playmakers. Curently used as a secondary venues by its successor, the PlayMakers Repertory Company.
