Concert hall, built 1901 by Peabody & Stearns for the piano manufacturer Chickering & Sons. Opened as "Chickering Hall". 800 seats. 1912 extended and re-opened as "St. James Theatre" (1600 seats). Used as a vaudeville theatre and cinema. 1929 renamed "Uptown Theatre". Demolished 1968.
