Multi-purpose hall, built 1939-1940 by Lindsey M. Gudger as "Asheville City Auditorium", replacing a former auditorium. Opened 1940. 1975 renamed "Thomas Wolfe Auditorium" in honour of the American writer, Thomas Wolfe (1900-1938). Since 1975 operated as part of the "Asheville Civic Center Complex" (built 1970-1974, later renamed after corporate sponsors). 2431 seats.
