Conference and exhibition centre, built 1982-1986 by converting the former Manchester Central railway station (active 1880-1969). Opened as "G-Mex Centre" (Greater Manchester Exhibition Centre). 2007 renamed "Manchester Central Convention Complex". Also used as a venue of large rock and pop concerts.
