Opened 26 Nov 1900 as "New Grand Theatre of Varieties". 1912 renamed "Grand Theatre of Varieties". 1927 renamed ""Grand Theatre" and also used as a cinema. 1950 renamed "Essoldo Cinema". Closed 31 Aug 1963. Subsequently converted into a bingo hall. Closed 1979. Re-opened 17 Dec 1991 as a music venue. Closed 1997. Reopened ca. 2001 as a music venue and nightclub.
