Built 1896 by Frank Matcham. Opened 21 Sep 1896 with "The Sign of the Cross". 1504 seats. 1940 renamed "Melville Theatre" (after the theatre director Frederick Melville). Destroyed by bombs on 8 Nov 1940. Remains subsequently demolished.
