Built 1905 by J. W. Start. Opened 1905 as "Grand Theatre", also known as "Grand Palace of Varieties". Ca. 1400 seats. At some point renamed "Hippodrome Theatre". From ca. 1920, used exclusively as a cinema. Closed 1961 and converted into a bingo hall. From 1985, used as a discotheque.
