Country: England, United Kingdom Historic County: Kent City: Chatham Location: 102 High Street Built 1899 by G. E. Bond. Opened 31 July 1899 as "Theatre Royal". 2840 seats. Severely damaged by fire soon after. Subsequently rebuilt by G. E. Bond and re-opened in 1900 with 1500 seats. 1938 rebuilding by Andrew Mather. Re-opened as "Royal Hippodrome Theatre". 1940 renamed "Theatre Royal". Closed 1953 and converted into a furniture store.
