Opened 26 Dec 1864 as "Theatre Royal" with the pantomime "All That Glitters is not Gold". Also known as "Royal Alexandra Theatre". 1921 converted into a cinema, with major interior rebuilding. Reopened 5 Dec 1921 as "Theatre Royal Picture House". 1967 renamed "Irving Royal Cinema", later in 1967 renamed "Classic Royal Cinema". Closed 16 Nov 1974. Later converted into a store.
