Built 1820-1824 by Luigi Canonica for the "Società dei Palchettisti". Opened 1824. 1948 purchased by Celestino Pedretti and re-opened as a cinema named "Cinema Teatro Pedretti". 2010 purchased by the city of Sondrio. 2010-2015 major rebuilding. 2015 reopened as a live theatre again named "Teatro Sociale". Main hall: 600 seats, smaller hall ("Sala Pedretti"): 60 seats.
