Opened 31 Jan 1732 with Domenico Sarro's opera "Berenice". Subsequently used as Rome's major opera house until the late 19th century. Various restorations. 696 seats. Since 1994 home to the Teatro Stabile di Roma company and mostly used for drama performances. Notable world premieres:
