Built by Carlo Sorgente. Named in hounour of the Italian opera composer, Vincenzo Bellini (1801-1835). Opened 6 Feb 1878 with Bellini's opera "I Puritani". Originally used for opera and operetta performances. In the 20th century also used as a cinema. 1986-1988 restorations. Re-opened 1988 with Bertolt Brecht's "Dreigroschenoper". 940 seats.
