Built as "Stadttheater" for the city of Meran by Martin Dülfer. Opened 1 December 1900 with Beethoven's ouverture "Die Weihe des Hauses" and Goethe's "Faust I" (music by Eduard Lassen). 650 seats. Later renamed "Teatro Puccini / Stadttheater Meran 'Giacomo Puccini'" in honour of the Italian composer, Giacomo Puccini (1858-1924).
