Site of the world premiere of one of the first operas, Claudio Monteverdi's "L'Orfeo" on 24 Feb 1607, celebrating the birthday of Francesco IV Gonzaga. The exact location within the complex is not known. Some researchers have proposed that it took place in the "Sala dei Fiumi". |
