Country: Italy (Italia) Region: Liguria City: Genova Location: Sampierdarena; Piazza Gustavo Modena 3 / Via Bruno Ghiglione / Via del Monastero Built 1856-1857 by Nicoḷ Bruno. Opened 19 Sep 1857 with Carlo Pedrotti's opera "Tutti in maschera". Named in honour of the Italian actor and political activist, Gustavo Modena (1803-1861). 1920-1922 restorations by Raffaele Bruno. From 1936 until 1979 mainly used as a cinema. 1983 closed due to safety concerns. 1996-1997 rebuilding. Re-opened 31 Oct 1997 as home to the "Teatro dell'Archivolto" company.
