Country: Germany (Deutschland) State: Sachsen-Anhalt District: Landkreis Anhalt-Bitterfeld City: Zerbst Location: Schlossgarten / Faschweg / Gartenstraße Built 1724-1726 by Johann Christoph Schütze as a riding school ("Reitbahn") for the princes of Anhalt-Zerbst. Since 1918 used for exhibitions and concerts. Damaged by warfare in 1945. Subsequently repaired; re-opened 1947. 1950-1951 major interior rebuilding, dividing the formerly single hall into three sections. Re-opened 21 Jan 1951 as "Stadthalle".
