Worms: Cornelianum

Municipal multi-purpose hall, built 1908-1910 by Theodor Fischer as part of the town hall complex. Funded by the industrialist Cornelius Wilhelm von Heyl zu Herrnsheim. Named after the leading name of the von Heyl family, Cornelius. The complex included a main hall ("Nibelungensaal"), several function rooms and a public bathhouse. Destroyed by bombs in 1945. Remains demolished in 1960. The site is now occupied by the municipal library.
