Country: Germany (Deutschland) State: Baden-Württemberg City: Stuttgart Location: Heusteigstraße 45 Built 1889-1890 by Ludwig Wittmann and Louis Stahl as "Arbeiterhalle", a male workers' dormitory with a theatre hall, for the Arbeiterbildungsverein Stuttgart (ABV). From ca. 1945 used as a revue theatre "Hollywood". From 1947 home to the parliament (Landtag) of Württemberg-Baden, from 1955 home to the parliament of Baden-Württemberg until 1961. Currently the theatre hall is used by the stage design courses of Staatliche Akademie der Bildenden Künste. Named after the banker and social reformer, Eduard Pfeiffer (1835-1921). 1957 installation of a studio basement theatre, named "ABV-Zimmertheater". Link: Wikidata |
