Country: Germany (Deutschland) State: Baden-Württemberg City: Stuttgart Location: Arnulf-Klett-Platz 1-3 (Hindenburgplatz) / Königstraße 2 Commercial building with a planetarium, built 1926-1928 by Paul Schmohl, Georg Staehlin, Albert Eitel and Richard Bielenberg. Named after the German president Paul von Hindenburg. The planetarium was also used as newsreel cinema named "Ufa-Wochenschaukino im Planetarium". Damaged by bombs in World War II. 1948-1949 rebuilding and extension by Hans Paul Schmohl. The complex now contained the cinema "Rex", later renamed "Ambo", closed in 2007. 2006 rebuilding and extension by Sorg und Frosch. 2010 official withdrawal of the name "Hindenburgbau" without proposing a new name.
