Opened 22 May 1887. 1950-1951 major rebuilding by Robert Braun. Reopened 19 May 1951 with Mozart's "Le nozze di Figaro" (by the Bavarian State Opera company). Used for concerts and touring productions. The former concert hall is now used by the "Lindauer Marionettenoper", a puppet opera company.
