[First theatre on the site: "Apollo-Theater", a variety theatre active around 1900. Converted into a cinema named "Schauburg" in 1929. Destroyed in World War II.]

New "Schauburg" cinema built 1948-1949, opened 23 March 1949. Originally 1000 seats. The cinema now contains three halls (Schauburg with 350 seats, Cinema with 148 seats, Bambi with 61 seats). Operated as an arthouse cinema.
