Opened 22 June 1935 with an inauguration ceremony, opened as a theatre with Kuet Heynicke's "Thing" drama, "Der Weg ins Reich". Ca. 8000 seats. Originally used for "Thing" performances, drama performances, Nazi party ceremonies and other events. After World War II occasionally used for youth festivals, pop concerts and sport events.
