Country: Germany (Deutschland) State: Niedersachsen District: Region Hannover City: Hannover Location: Kurt-Schumacher-Straße (Artilleriestraße 10) Built 1889 as a variety and operetta theatre for the magician Hermann Mellini. 1677 seats. Ca. 1933-1945 part of the Nazi "Kraft durch Freude" programme. 1943 severely damaged by bombs. From 1946 basement used as chamber theatre ("Junge Bühne", later "Kammerspiele").
