Opened 23 Sep 1894 with Schiller's "Wilhelm Tell". 1924 extension by an administrative wing and stagehouse modernization. 1933-1936 foyers and auditorium rebuildings. In the 1930s/1940s also known as "Grenzlandtheater". 1986 façade renovation. 537 seats. One of the homes of the "Schleswig-Holsteinisches Landestheater" opera, drama, and ballet companies.
