Country: Germany (Deutschland) State: Sachsen City: Dresden Location: Altstadt, Prager Straße 6 Cinema, built 1970-1972 as "Filmtheater Prager Straße" by Gerhard Langraf and Waltraut Heischkel. Interior design by Theo Wagenführ. Also known as "Rundkino" [round cinema]. After a 1996-1998 extension by a multiplex cinema by Coop Himmelb(l)au re-opened as part of the "UFA-Palast" complex. 2003 old "Rundkino" closed for cinema use, designated a cultural heritage monument, and separated from the multiplex (now "Kristallpalast"). 2007 re-opened as "Cinemagnum". 2008 restorations (after that 5 halls with 1400 seats). 2011 re-opened as "Rundkino" by the Cineplex chain.
