Country: Germany (Deutschland) State: Berlin City: Berlin Location: Mitte, Weinbergsweg 19 First venue on the site opened 1852 as "Berliner Circus-Theater". Closed 1855. Later re-opened as concert hall and ballroom. 1904 renamed "Nationaltheater am Weinsbergsweg" and used as an opera house. 1906 renamed "Walhalla-Theater" and used as a variety theatre. 1914-1919 operated by Bernhard Rose. 1927 the theatre's "Tunnel" restaurant was converted into a comedy club theatre named "Carow's Lachbühne" (over 1200 seats). Destroyed in World War II. |
