Country: Germany (Deutschland) State: Berlin City: Berlin Location: Neukölln, Hasenheide 108-114 (opposite of Kliems Festsäle) Multi-purpose entertainment and event venue complex, opened ca. 1880. Named "Neue Welt" (New World) after its location at the outskirts of Berlin. The original garden hall and ballroom were replaced by a larger multi-purpose hall in 1902. 1910 another smaller hall was erected. The complex also contained various amusements rides and a summer theatre. Damaged by bombs in 1945. Re-opened 1946, mostly for boxing matches and as a cinema. In the 1960s and 1970s often used as a rock music venue. Closed 1982. 1984-1985 converted into a roller skatnig discotheque named "Roller Skate Center Neue Welt". 1990 reopened as a music venue and renamed "Huxleys Neue Welt".
