Opened 25 Jan 1901 as a multi-purpose hall known as "Frölich'scher Saal". 1919-1922 used as a church, later as a warehouse. 1949 major renovation. Re-opened as "Stadttheater Beckum" (750 seats). First used as a touring theatre venue, from 1955 used as a cinema. Later closed. Since 1983 operated by the "Kulturinitiave Filou" as a live theatre and cultural centre. Re-opened 17 May 1983. Various renovations.
