Country: France Region: Centre-Val de Loire Department: Cher City: Bourges Location: place André Malraux / rue de Séraucourt / espace de l'Europe Built 1939-1940 by Marcel Pinon as "Salle des Fêtes". 1963 rebuilding, installing two theatre halls (916 and 350 seats), exhibition space and a discotheque. Re-opened 12 Oct 1963 as "Maison de la Culture de Bourges" (MCB). 2012-2013 rebuilding, preserving only the protected façade. When Roman ruins were discovered during construction, the rebuilding was stopped. In 2013, the city decided to abandon the site and built a new "Maison de la Culture" 200 metres south.
