Opened 1 March 1941 as "Barașeum", a Jewish Romanian-language theatre active from 1941-1945 during the Fascist regime. Named after the Jewish Romanian writer and physician, Iuliu Barasch (1815-1863). Re-opened 1948 as State Jewish Theatre. Used for drama performances in Yiddish and Romanian.
