Ein Städtchen liegt im PfälzerlandWhile studying in Freiburg, Wunderlich wrote a poem on his hometown Kusel: "Ein Städtchen liegt im Pfälzerland" ("There's a little town in the Palatine mountains"). He later set the poem to music, and showed the result to F. J. Breuer during the preparations for the Polydor LP "Ein Lied geht um die Welt". As a surprise for Wunderlich, Breuer then orchestrated Wunderlich's song, and it was subsequently recorded during the sessions for "Du bist die Welt für mich" and issued on a Polydor single. (The recorded version doesn't contain all of the stanzas Wunderlich had originally written.)Produced by Franz Josef Breuer. Rec. at Munich, 1965-05-31 - 1965-06-04. |
