Country: Guatemala City: Quetzaltenango (Xela) Location: 1a Calle Zona 1 / 14 Avenida A Built 1894-1895 by Enrique Jones. Opened 19 July 1895. Severely damaged by an earthquake on 18 Apr 1902. Subsequently rebuilt by Domingo Goicolea and Alberto Boj, with a neo-classical façade. Re-opened 21 Nov 1908. 1995 restorations by Esmirna Barrientos and Ezequiel de Paz. 1050 seats. |
