Country: Australia State: Western Australia City: Perth Location: 825 Hay Street / King Street [1st entertainment venue on the site built 1896 as as "Ye Olde Englishe Faire" open air theatre and showground. Opened 9 Nov 1896 with the trapeze show "Ooda - The Aerial Marvel".] Current theatre built 1904 by architect William Wolfe and contractor Gustav Liebe for T. G. Molloy. Named "His Majesty's Theatre" after King Edward VII. Opened 24 Dec 1904 with the variety show "The Forty Thieves". Used as a cinema during World War II. In the 1950s and 1960s mainly used for musicals. 1977-1980 major refurbishment. Re-opened 28 May 1980.
