Country: Australia State: Victoria City: Melbourne Location: 154 Flinders Street / Russell Street Built 1928-1929 as "State Theatre" cinema by Bohringer, Tayler and Johnson after designs by John Eberson for Stuart Doyle and Union Theatres. Opened 23 Feb 1929. Originally 3371 seats, later 3420 seats. 1961 divided to two theatres. Proscenium and stage area re-opened 1962 as "Forum Theatre", dress circle area opened 1963 as "Rapallo". 1981 major renovations, renamed "Forum I" and "Forum II". 1986 purchased by the Melbourne Revival Centre and used as a meeting place. 1995 purchased by Staged Developments Australia. 2016-2017 renovations.
