Multi-purpose sports and entertainment hall with a retractable roof, built 1958-1961 by Mitchell & Ritchey Architects. Opened 17 Dec 1961. Used for musicals by the "Civic Light Opera" company. 1999 renamed "Mellon Arena" after a corporate sponsor. Closed 2010. Demolished 2011-2012.
