Opened 29 Aug 1904 as "Majestic Theatre" with "The Wizard of Oz". Closed ca. 1968. Since 1987 operated by the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) and renamed "BAM Majestic Theatre". Renovations by Hugh Hardy that maintained much of the delapidated interior. 1999 renamed "BAM Harvey Theatre" in honour of the American arts administrator and president of BAM, Harvey Lichtenstein (1929-2017).
