2nd "Detroit Opera House" built 1897-1898 by Mason & Rice (exterior) and J. M. Wood (interior). Opened 12 Sep 1898 with "The Highwaymen". Demolished 1966.

[The currently operating 3rd Detroit Opera House is the former Capitol Theatre, located at another site.]
