Opened 27 Dec 1959 with Thomas Wolfe's "Of Time and the River". Named in honour of the American actress Kalita Humphreys (1914-1954) who had died in a plane crash in 1954. As a memorial, her parents gave a substantial donation towards the construction of the theatre. 497 seats. 1959-2009 home to the Dallas Theater Center.
