[First theatre on the site opened 2 July 1935 with William Shakespeare's "Twelfth Night". Demolished during World War II. Second theatre built 1947, demolished 1958.] Third theatre built 1959 by Jack Edson after a design by Richard L. Hay, using the stage measurements mentioned in the contract of the 1599 Fortune Playhouse in London (England). Opened 1959 as "Elizabethan Theatre". 2013 renamed "Allen Elizabethan Theatre".
